    Published 11/11/19

King's High's fourth Festival of Ideas is full swing. Girls have recreated Roman life, written poetry, and heard King's Poet in Residence speak on how reading poetry makes our experience of the world new. Ian McKim, Head of Criminology at the University of South Wales, gave a fascinating talk on criminology, and the reality of crime, compared to how it is portrayed in the media. Dominic Dromgoole, former Artistic Director of The Globe Theatre,  spoke on touring Hamlet around the world, with encounters from Barack Obama, to refugee camps. Girls have been exploring spies, secrets and espionage in Enigma Coding Workshops, and hearing World Tour Free Skiier, Rachel Findler recount some amazing adventures (such as being lost, skiing out in the wilderness, and being stalked by a mountain lion), at teh Celebration of Achievement.  Russiand and Japanese language workshops round off a fascinating week of talks, events and experiences.  Do read more in the brochure below.

  • Muddy Stilettos visits King's High
