Boarding at King's High from Year 9 - Sixth Form
Boarding is an integral part of the Warwick Schools Foundation.
There is a long and highly successful history of boarding at Warwick School, which shares the Foundation campus with King’s High. Our boy boarders describe their experience as being part of a family – ‘home away from home’ – where the boarding community is large enough to share many different interests with friends but small enough for everyone to be known and valued as an individual. This is the experience we now provide for our girl boarders.
Following the outstanding boarding experience of our Sixth Form students at King's High, Warwick, we are delighted to extend our boarding provision to students in Year 9 upwards from September 2025.
The dedicated girls’ boarding house is located on site at beautiful Way House – a newly refurbished ‘home from home’, offering excellent accommodation for living and studying, with the outstanding facilities of King's High and the Warwick Schools Foundation available on the doorstep.
Award-winning King's High is the Sunday Times' top independent school in Warwickshire for academic performance and is located just over 90 minutes away from London, in the heart of the country.
We are currently celebrating a record year for top grades at GCSE. Nearly a third of all grades awarded were at the very top grade 9, with just under 60% of all grades at 9-8, a new record for the school. Sixth Formers also achieved an excellent set of A Level results this year and are looking forward to top university places and prestigious degree apprenticeships.
Joining King's High from Year 9 offers a wealth of exciting opportunities; from our incredible co-curricular programme with over 230 weekly activities, to our acclaimed Friday Afternoon Activities programme, which encourages girls to discover new talents, develop interests and passions, and take part in leadership opportunities.
As a flagship centre for creative thinking, our Curriculum of the Future Project outlines our bold vision for the coming years, focusing on the content of our curriculum, the skills that are acquired through a high-quality curriculum, and the habits and character traits that will stay with our students well beyond their time at school.
Pupils in Year 9 are invited to complete our Changemaker Award, which rewards pupils for their imagination, collaboration, sense of community responsibility and more.
In years 10 and 11, pupils are invited to study two unique Future Ready courses at King's High. Our Global Changemaker Programme includes units on Social Justice, Global Citizenship, Law & The Legal System, and Climate Change. Our Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme covers Sustainable Engineering, Data Analysis, Neuroscience and Entrepreneurship. We are very proud to have been crowned winner of the inaugural award for Future Readiness by the ISA.
The unique boarding experience at King's High provides our boarders with the 'Best of Both Worlds' with academic single-sex teaching and co-educational, co-curricular opportunities outside the classroom. Our 55-acre campus includes a world-class music school, our very own theatre, and outstanding sporting facilities.
In addition, we offer Short-Term Boarding, Cultural Immersion and Innovative Future-Ready Courses. More information on both at the bottom of the page.
The dedicated girls’ boarding house is Way House – a newly refurbished ‘home from home’, offering excellent accommodation for living and studying, with the outstanding facilities of the schools available on the doorstep.
“King’s High is a very special community and our boarding house is an integral part of this. Boarders will benefit from outstanding pastoral care, the very best wellbeing support, as well as innovative and inspirational teaching and learning. Our new Future-Ready Courses are very popular: we are the only school in the UK to be teaching courses on innovation and social justice. We look forward very much to welcoming boarders from Year 9 to Sixth Form to King's High for the start of what will be an amazing experience.”
