To our school community - a message from the Head Master
We know that the closing of schools will have a huge impact not only on our pupils but on families too. This national effort in trying to limit and control the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) is asking for everyone to dig deep and find reserves of resilience we perhaps have not had to reach for before.
For our pupils, their regular day to day contact with friends will change, and they will also be without the physical surroundings of their school, which for so many is like a second home. For teachers, time when we are not surrounded by pupils and colleagues will be very strange indeed. All of us will miss the company we share with each other.
We believe that the routine of school gives important structure to the girls’ lives, so in order to help your daughters adjust to the new circumstances, we will keep her remote, ‘virtual’ school day as similar to her ‘real’ school day as possible. There will be assemblies and activities to listen to and take part in, and lessons will take place at their usual times. We have prepared the girls for their new learning environment, and colleagues have also changed the way they work: pupils, teachers and support staff alike have risen to the challenge with stoicism, professionalism and indeed aplomb: the special spirit of King’s has been very much in evidence throughout this difficult time. As parents, you will have received detailed guidance about distance learning, but if there are any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school in the usual way or via enquiries@kingshighwarwick.co.uk.
I know that our school community is strong, and that we will continue to draw strength from one other, be we pupils, parents, or staff; thank you for all the support which I know is going. We want to keep in as close contact as we can throughout this time, so please visit our Twitter accounts and the website for updates. Thank you to those of you who have sent in messages - please do continue to share your stories with us: we love to know what you are up to!
I look forward to staying in touch with you, albeit remotely; most importantly, stay safe and well.
