Florence wins place at Junior Royal Academy of Music
Florence has won a place at the Junior Academy, Royal Academy of Music, to study composition. An accomplished musician, (Flo performed at King’s High’s first public music recital at St Mary’s, Warwick), she discovered composition in Music lessons in Year 7. Today, her musical influences include the American film composer, Danny Elfman, and Erik Satie.
Flo will study composition and general theory at Junior RAM each Saturday. She comments: ‘I am really interested in how music has developed in the last 50 years – with experimental, film scores, and video gaming. I am interested in video game soundtracks, and interactive music, layering it up. I enjoy making experimental, modern music, but music which still holds a melody.’
