We are delighted that our partner charity, Kissing it Better has won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for South Warwickshire. Sharing her delight, Jill Fraser of Kissing it Better said: ‘Huge thanks to the pupils of King’s High and Warwick School for the incredible support they offer patients, visitors and staff in our NHS hospitals and Care Homes. Since 2011, they have lifted countless spirits in so many ways, and their efforts contributed to much to this award.’ 

As part of our co-curricular Friday afternoon programme, pupils from King’s High and Warwick School volunteer with Kissing it Better, supporting the charity’s work in local hospitals, and care homes. Recent initiatives include celebrating International Nurses’ Day; sending handwritten cards and hampers of treats for patients and staff; and organising a mountain of soft toys – each with its own touching, hand-written note - for patients with dementia.
