Festival of Wellbeing
It's that time of year again when the Festival of Wellbeing bursts into life at King's High School. While we prioritise and focus on wellbeing throughout every element of our school life and culture, the Festival allows us to add a touch of celebration and pizzazz to the usual school day. This year, the Festival of Wellbeing, which runs from 7 to 17 May, centres around some of our key principles at King's High: play, rest, creativity, fun, and gratitude.
We are delighted to see the return of some popular favourites: pebble painting, sleep workshops, meditation, yoga and crafting with Parsnip but are also excited about new sessions on offer this year, including self-defence, reading for wellbeing and affirmation workshops with our King's High Wellbeing Mentor.
Our key note speakers for 2024 are Fletch@, the leading British Sign Language performer who will be teaching our Year 7s how to sign a song, and for the rest of the school, we are excited to welcome Joshua Coombes who will be sharing his 'Do Something for Nothing' social campaign expounding the values of empathy, compassion and gratitude.
The Festival concludes with our Wellbeing Fair where the school community comes together in the King's spirit of joy, fun and play. This year, we have even invited some inflatable fun and the Alpaca Pals along to join us!
The Festival of Wellbeing provides each member of our school community with the opportunity to try something new, to play, to restore and remind ourselves of the fundamental truth - we simply must know how to look after ourselves well in order to thrive. In a world that can seem ever-busy and demanding, it is a time to pause, enjoy and flourish in our Festival of Wellbeing. View the activities below.
