The King's Tea

It was a pleasure to welcome our Year 6 offer holders to The King's Tea this week!
We were truly inspired by Dr Burley, who shared his remarkable journey in education - both literal and academic. From a two-and-a-half-hour daily commute as a child, navigating foot, bus, ferry, and metro to reach school - driven by his mother’s deep belief in the power of education - to studying English Literature at University College London, an M.Phil at Oxford, and a PhD at the University of London.
We also heard from two of our wonderful Year 7 pupils, who joined us from a local primary school and Warwick Prep. Both have embraced life at King's, diving into activities and making the most of every opportunity.
Our Head Girl, Joana, then spoke passionately about her own journey through King's High, describing it as a place where students are empowered to grow, stay true to themselves, and reach their full potential. As she beautifully put it, "King’s High continues to show me that I have more potential than I think, and constantly pushes me to reach it."
The icing on the cake? A spectacular mini-concert featuring our King's Trio, Accordia - the U12 winners in the national Pro Corda competition, our Junior Choir, and one of our brilliant rock bands, Benevolence.
And, of course, no King’s Tea would be complete without the delicious scones and cakes made by our exceptional Catering team!
